If a survey or valuation mentions knotweed on a house you are buying, it does not have to end the purchase. It does mean you need the right information before exchange.
Ask the seller
Ask for the management plan, the treatment records and any guarantee, and check whether the guarantee transfers to you.
If there is no plan
A survey will show the extent, and a treatment programme can be set up so the lender has what it needs.
